Bilingual Poems to Mother & Her Love
A single orchid suspends a tree
feeds the wingless hummingbird
but flora are not capable of superhuman feats
swollen ankles, secret fears.
They cannot fight, protect their young,
surrender dreams unselfishly.
And so we honor you
declare a day to give you gifts
and quell our guilt because we think
to know the shades of violet flowers.
For every fragrant spring we thank you
shower you with love.
